Dutchmen Kodiak Ultra-Lite 261RBSL
The third trailer we looked at during our visit to Poulsbo RV was the Kodiak 261RBSL. This trailer is 31'0" long and has a dry weight of 5,700 pounds.
Kitchen
The kitchen is in the corner, against the wall that separates the bedroom from the main area of the trailer. This is a common layout, but this trailer has more counterspace than many other kitchens of this design. The counter is thermofoil wrapped. The undermounted sink was white; I'm not sure what kind of material it was made of. The pantry is directly to the right as you enter the trailer. It provides ample shelf and floor space...a perfect spot for a large bin of dog food and a broom. Because of its placement, it could also be used as a place to store shoes or for coats.
Outdoor Kitchen
The outdoor kitchen features a small refrigerator and a two-burner cook top, but no sink.
Living/Dining
The unit we toured had a booth dinette and theater seating. "Theater seating" sounds great, but this was the worst theater seating we've seen in any of the units we've viewed. The center "console", where the cup holders are, is removable, which is the nice way to say it's unstable and there's no way I would put a drink in it. It was, however, very comfortable and directly across from the entertainment center. The dinette was configured in a U shape, with the wide length of the table oriented with the back of the U, but the salesman pointed out that it could be converted to a standard booth dinette.
And check out that floor! There is no carpet anywhere in this unit, a feature that has a lot of appeal to someone with two large, shedding dogs. This is my favorite feature of this trailer.
Bathroom
The short refrigerator in the outdoor kitchen leaves plenty of room for storage in the bathroom, and this trailer did not disappoint in that regard. Behind the doors is all hanging space! The drawers below are a nice touch. There is also enough counter space (which in my mind is better than "adequate" counter space) and storage below. This unit definitely wins the bathroom competition, although the Wildcat Maxx 26FB is a close second.
Bedroom
The bedroom features a walkaround, residential sized queen bed.

Other Pros
- Almost 2,000 pounds cargo carrying capacity.
- Did I mention there's no carpet?
- The optional "fireplace" was a nice touch.
Bonus Photos
This is a very nice trailer. For some reason, it wasn't as initially impressive as the other two trailers we toured that day, but the more I think about it, the more it has grown on me. It is not out of the running.
