Crossroads RV Sunset Trail 260SI
The second trailer we looked at during our visit to Poulsbo RV was the Sunset Trail 260SI. This trailer is 31'1" long and has a dry weight of
5,986 pounds.
Kitchen
This trailer has opposing slides which
allows for an island kitchen. There is a ton of counter space. One thing we
have seen, even in fifth wheels, is only a couple of inches of counter space on
either side of the range, even though there is good space on the island and
usually on an end wall as well. The 26SI has good counter space next to the
range, enough for a coffeemaker and/or a holder for cooking utensils. There is
ample kitchen storage with cabinets and two drawers in the island as well as a
full pantry with enough floor space for a broom or vacuum and a large bin of
dog food. There are more drawers under the counter next to the range.
I think the island kitchen is a bit of a mixed blessing. I love the extra storage and counter space, but I feel like you're losing some floor space. If our dogs were small, floor space wouldn't be a concern, but our dogs are both over 80 pounds and can take up a lot of room.
Outdoor Kitchen
An outdoor kitchen isn't really a huge selling point for us BUT this
trailer has a huge outdoor refrigerator and extra cold storage has to be a good thing, right? There's also a sink and a pull out gas grill. I feel like if we bought this trailer, we'd want to take out the
sink and the grill and make a small work bench area for Chuck.
Living/Dining
This trailer has an unremarkable
living/dining area. As we walked in, the booth dinette was to the right, and
the sofa was to the left. The TV was directly across from the sofa.
Bathroom
Because the outside refrigerator is so tall, there's no huge
storage cabinet in this unit like there was in the Wildcat Maxx we reviewed
previously. There is a high, wide cabinet over the outdoor kitchen, but I felt
it was almost too high to be truly useful to me (I'm 5'4"). It would be
good storage for things that aren't used often, though, and there is a linen
closet opposite. This bathroom also features adequate counterspace with a
medicine cabinet above and a cabinet below.
Bedroom
This unit comes with a "king"
sized bed. I'm not sure if that's a full, residential sized king or not. There
is room to walk around the bed, though, which is a plus.
Other Pros
- There was a window over the head of the bed. We both think we'd really like this for late night star gazing. I believe this may be an optional feature.
- Fully finished pass through storage.
- Solid step entry steps.
Bonus Photos
Another solid contender. I'm beginning to feel as though we're going to have a hard time choosing just one.
