Rush hour takes on a whole new meaning in a small town like Grand Coulee.

Jet Ski Fail

Image
Last Thursday, after trips on two successive days to buy licenses for the jet skis, we finally got them out on the water. Why two trips, you might ask. In Washington, the state doesn't send individualized renewal notices for watercraft. Instead, since they all renew in June, they send generic postcards reminding you to go renew your tabs. Since the cards have no identifying information, when you go to renew, you either have to know your boat registration number or remember to write it down so the licensing agent can look it up. Full disclosure: We did neither of those things. Instead, when we got there, the agent looked the jet skis up by our names and address (one is licensed to Chuck and the other to me). Unfortunately, when she looked up Chuck's jet ski, she found our boat. Then, when she asked if it was a 2013, it didn't ring a bell for either of us that she'd found the wrong watercraft. The other clue should have been the total amount, but that didn't serve...

TMI?

I've recently come across some vlogs that have me wondering if it's possible to share too much information with your viewers (or readers). I don't want to get into any specifics because I'm not going to point fingers, but here is my concern: When your RVing story involves someone else in an unflattering way, is it fair or kind to publicly identify them if they don't have a platform of their own where they can respond? I'm not advocating that people not share their honest experiences. I love that transparency, but I think there's a better way than publicly putting a name and face to everyone we encounter. The vlogger (or blogger) has a choice...other people don't. What do you think? Paula

Dutchmen Kodiak Ultra-Lite 261RBSL

The third trailer we looked at during our visit to Poulsbo RV was the Kodiak 261RBSL. This trailer is 31'0" long and has a dry weight of 5,700 pounds. Kitchen The kitchen is in the corner, against the wall that separates the bedroom from the main area of the trailer. This is a common layout, but this trailer has more counterspace than many other kitchens of this design. The counter is thermofoil wrapped. The undermounted sink was white; I'm not sure what kind of material it was made of. The pantry is directly to the right as you enter the trailer. It provides ample shelf and floor space...a perfect spot for a large bin of dog food and a broom. Because of its placement, it could also be used as a place to store shoes or for coats. Outdoor Kitchen The outdoor kitchen features a small refrigerator and a two-burner cook top, but no sink. Living/Dining The unit we toured had a booth dinette and theater seating. "Theater seating" sounds great, but this ...
